ROBOTS AND CAT-BALLS! Grande finale of the drug plot [info/plotting post]

WHAT HAPPENED?

Last summer, a nefarious freckled enterprising blonde started selling lollipop drugs and created a drug empire with his dirty drug money. Said dirty drug money also funded a top-secret project of his--Pokeballs (henceforth referred to as "cat-balls") that can catch and clone anything so that they serve as Seth's puppets. Unknown to anyone, Mayor Tabuu was cat-balled.

The drug lollipops caused different affects on its users, ranging from whacky shenanigans to flooded schools to civil unrest and racial/specie bias and segregation. Even after a band of heroes from Smash Academy thwarted the drug production plant located under a creepy church, Final Destination City erupted in turmoil and riots. The bottle-necked supply of drugs fed aggression and desperation until "Mayor Tabuu" decided he had enough.

"He" ordered Martial Law under Dr. Eggman's rule. (For shits and giggles, really.) Robots patrolled the city and curfews were put in place. Surprisingly enough, this worked. Riots calmed down, and drug-related violence and crime are no longer a problem.

...That said, Eggman himself is now a problem.

Many residents of Smash Academy and FDC feel Eggman's reign is no longer needed. No doubt you've seen the numerous posters and flyers around campus calling for a unified rally against Eggman's robot regime. Eirika is taking a stand for your independence, Smash Academy.

And without your help, her efforts might be for nothing.

SO WHAT'S HAPPENING NEXT?

Eirika's stand against Eggman will be doomed to fail. After capture she will NEVER BE HEARD FROM AGAIN dun dun dunnn. In actuality, Eggman will teach her some manners and secretly robotisize her. No one would be any the wiser as to what happened to her, though you might notice she's gone missing.

Except Seth. He'll be snooping around at the right place at the right time and once he learns of Eggman's ability to robotisize his cat-ball guinea pigs, he'll decide that Eggman has gotten too comfortable with his position of power. In his haste, Seth will make a phone call to his drug cronies which Ulki will overhear--What?! ROBOTS? Seth is the drug guy?! He cat-balled Tabuu??? What the heck is a cat-ball anyway?! SOUNDS BAD...! This critical news will eventually come back to Eggman, and surely everyone in Smash Academy will hear about it after that point.

WHAT CAN I DO?

So we will have Eggman furious at being tricked by Seth the drug lord and cat-baller, and Seth furious at Eggman the robotisizer for overstepping his boundaries. Both are obviously bad--Eggman is a more immediate threat but Seth is probably the bigger one; he has Mayor Tabuu by the balls, after all.

Here's what we're looking to do:

- Sign up for a group to commandeer Eggman's robotisizing machine.
- Sign up to be robotisized and fight your friends.
- Be normal and fight random faceless badniks (there are cute fuzzy pokemon animals trapped inside, don't you want to save them?)
- Sign up to be cat-balled and fight badniks andor robotisized friends incognito, and then celebrate your victory by turning on your friends.

Seth and Eggman will duke it out mano e mano. You do not sign up for that, BUT, it will be broadcasted live to the network for all to see thanks to Bowser.

I DON'T WANT TO DO ANY OF THAT.

No worries, this is entirely opt-in. Meaning if you want nothing to do with this plot/event you just keep on keeping man. Just keep doing your thing, as you have been. Shit's going down on Monday the 26th and just on that day (although backdating will be a thing as long as needed). There will be a network post on Monday of Eggman and Seth yelling at/fighting with each other that will kick things off, then an open log for everyone to get their collective commandeering/fighting on, which will take place on the outskirts of campus and in the city. Please feel free to utilize the network to ICly group together as you wish, or make your own logs outside of the catch-all one, or do all your hand-waving and figuring out here.

AND THEN AFTER THIS EVERYTHING WILL TURN TO NORMAL AND CLASSES WILL START BACK UP, YAAAAAY.

Okay so.... if Chiyo is robotisized in Pokemon form, can she humanize? Would she become a robotisized human if she did? Or... just disable that ability until she's back to normal?

HELLO I REALIZED I HAD A QUESTION because in all of the other cat-ball pokemon cases the trainer is also cat-balled so it didn't matter. BUT.

Say Blue tries to return Jock to his pokeball post-catballs, would it work? Would it plink off as if he was someone else's pokemon? If not while he is conscious, what about if he is KOed?

It's located on the Egg Carrier and it will be no easy task. Looking for only 4 or 5 people for this. First come first serve. If there's overflow then it'll get randomized. You can be cat-balled and sign up for this. Ideally there should be one cat-balled "mole" to keep things interesting since they'll try to sabotage the mission.

Remember, the idea is to capture it and then PROTECT THE MACHINE! You do NOT want to blow it up, that will not solve anyone's problems! Robotisizations can not be reversed with a blown up machine. At worst if the machine suffers damage, you'd better find someone who's good with repairs.

I WANT TO BE ROBOTISIZED

Congratulations! What was once skin is now creaking, rigid metal, what was once blood and sweat is now black, tarry oil, and your free will is completely gone. You don't feel pain, you don't feel regret. Your charming personality is probably still somewhere in there, under all the circuits and complete obedience to the Eggman Empire.

This doesn't have to be permanent, however! There are two ways to reverse the process: 1) Your friends bop you on your metal head enough and that robotisized "shell" of yours will fall off. Pain is definitely involved. 2) Go back in the robotisizing machine. This will probably still feel uncomfortable but you won't be dealing with the world's worst headache afterwards, so there's that.

Limit is 10 sign-ups for now, but if this is popular it can be opened it up some more. You are safe from being cat-balled if you are robotisized. This is kind of the whole reason Seth has his whiskers in a twist.

I JUST WANT TO FIGHT BADNIKS

Anyone can do this! No sign ups required. You can be cat-balled and do this. Seth would especially encourage you to do this. You can not be robotisized and do this (that makes no sense).

I WANT TO BE CAT-BALLED

Congratulations, you are now part of the collective hivemind that is Seth's will. Cat-balls look like innocuous black/purple/silver Pokeballs with cat paws embezzled on them. They capture anything and everything they are thrown at without fail, like a Master Ball. Once inside, these devious little buggers will make a PERFECT REPLICA of your character and ooze out the sides of the ball. Trapped inside, you see, smell, hear, and feel everything your clone is doing. If you didn't know any better, you'd swear nothing was different. Anyone looking at you would not be able to deduce any difference from the real you and the cat-balled clone, making you a perfect spy.

Which is exactly what Seth likes you to do. Go about your normal business, and stop those infernal machines. Then once you've done that, turn on your friends and try to cat-ball them. Or hurt them if they don't comply. In fact, hurt them anyway. Hurt them a lot because Seth is a jerk.

A cat-balled clone will bleed shadow bugs if beaten to excess, and eventually they will fall apart and dissipate. The real character, still safe and quite alive inside the ball, will however feel like they just DIED. Defeating Seth will release everyone from their spherical prisons, probably leaving them to feel worse for the wear but otherwise completely safe. (Yes that means you should probably be cheering and rooting for Eggman's victory.)

Limit is 10 sign-ups for now. If you want to be cat-balled and then robotisized, I'll leave that up to you, but needless to say Seth won't be happy Eggman "stole" you from him.

Note: There are a few of you out there who are already cat-balled (you know who you are) and I've made things as flexible as possible should you also want to get in on the robotisizing and what not. If you want opt-outs, just get a hold of me and I'll gladly work something out with you.

I AM OPEN to cat-balling, but only if it's a serious committal want and if you don't mind me being a little slow with it. She would be a force to be reckoned with and extreme injury/heartache/angst would result.

OKAY this is going to be a big thing on many levels for him, partially because of Vivian's reprogramming (KRIS... IS THIS A GOOD TIME FOR HIM TO DISCOVER THAT? I THINK SO) and partially because he may or may not have to kill his own catballsed brother because he does not have enough Mondo-related psychological trauma just yet.

This is also a big time for Mary because she just got totally betrayed by Seth and is learning many cold hard truths. She's probably pretty useless as a fighter, being a ten year old girl then again she can hold her ground against a grown man for a little bit, or else Garry is just SUPER WEAK. But maybe there's some kind of behind the scene effort she could take part in? Stealthy info gathering? Something? Her trusting in other people is going to be pretty shaky at this point in time.

I have too many characters to make an individual post for each one, so you only get one.

Eirika gets to be my main star as a robot. (Ever seen EDI from Mass Effect? It'll be akin to that. Sort of.) Evidently she gets to do some taunting, so I'm sure she'll be an interesting companion for anyone who wants to cross paths with her. (Save the 'saving' for Connor. He gets permission to incapacitate her completely.)

Ziio will be lending her assistance where it's needed. Basically if you need her, let her know, and she'll come'a running, knife ablazin' etc., etc.

Nabooru is probably either going to 'fall' during this plot, or shortly after from lethal wounds or something, so expect to see her in the fray.

Caim has an obligation to keep Furiae safe, so he'll likely be making her follow him around. (And by extension, evidently Kiyotaka will be under his indirect protection, oops.)

Snake will be helping out where he's needed. If you're in a jam, he may very well be able to assist!

Soryk will surprisingly be willing to help. These robots are like goblin engineering and he really despises goblins.

Voile ... will probably be sitting this one out with what happened recently. I can't imagine she's at a place where she'd emotionally feel practical, so I think she'd be busy hiding in a room somewhere. Or she'll be attending to the wounded. That's probably a safer way of looking at it.

CONNOR is going to be fighting robots until Robo!Eirika shows up. They'll duke it out and everything will be terrible until he basically knocks her out and "saves" her. Somehow this and so will happen and Connor will go on Eggman's turf to retrieve the thing and want to fix everything. You better bet he's going to get real with this and ppprrrrobably then would wanna take some serious action. But he's up for team-ups, and people for him to assist/support him.

GARRY is and has been cat-balled. Of course, under Mary's orders so whether or not he'll fight with his puny body or protect her is up to her. I...have been planning on him getting really hurt bad???

MAC is gonna fight the robots and is up to team and kick ass with everyone.

shadow is going to be one of the cat-balled. he's goooooood at snooping he is going to do a lot of snooping. a lot of snooping. given his mental state is already generally unstable, after he screws with eggman's baddies, he'll be fluctuating between turning on his buddies and... well, the shadow bugs reacting negatively to his mind and to his chaos energy. he'll be basically trying to betray everyone while internally and externally falling apart. good times.

isabelle will be opting out from this because hell if she can do much of anything. she isn't a fighter. ;w;

i'd love for clear to be thrust into this mess, even if by pure accident. he's a fighter, but not quite a willing one, given he's generally pacifistic by nature. probably just having to protect himself from faceless badniks and saving FUWAFUWA ANIMALS.
