smash_ooc | A Midsummer's Night's CR Meme

It's baaack!

So we have the personals meme for hashing out personal and game-wide plot and even ideas alike. There's always the budding of new CR in those too, but that's never been the focus. That's where this meme comes in! This one exists purefly for the sake of forging new relationships between characters by thoroughly detailing the kinds of people they are, who they'd get along with, and where they'd frequent for finding easy opportunities to have them meet each other! Or maybe they's already met briefly, by sharing the same class or having a friend in common or what have you. That skips the awkward "hey I've never seen you before" phase entirely - unless you want to do that step too, of course!

You can take a look at the proto-meme here. I've tweaked it a little this time around and am always open to suggestions for further improvements!

Most likely to get along with: Buddy material!
Least likely to get along with: Negative CR is also great.
Types of CR wanted: Rivalries? Romance? BFFs? Mentor/Apprentice things?

Notable for: Things strangers would immediately notice about and associate with them. Being disruptive in class, teaching really weirdly (well, normal for Smash I guess), being shy and quiet, etc
If your character were to encounter this one: Would they pass by without a word? Give a friendly wave? Get assigned a group project together? Bully yours for their lunch money? 
Dorm Life: Mostly relevant to roommates and immediate neighbours. Are they messy? Loud? Never home? Prone to drinking on the roof? If they live on their own somewhere TOO BAD YOU'RE NOT INVITED TO THIS SECTION
Places frequented: On campus and off. Hey, it's summer, everyone's got to be doing something with their vacation.
Often seen with: Hey, maybe your character has a friend in common with someone else, that can be an ice breaker.

I LIKE, I like a lot, but think some consolidation would be good in some parts.

Dorm Life + Living Arrangements smoosh that shit together.

Class taken/taught/clubs/other position could probably be smooshed together ala the previous CR meme.

I really like the idea of character encounters/impressions a lot! I did find it kind of challenging to fill out since a lot of it is going to be reliant upon whatever situation or circumstance the encounter or impression is, and it was a lot of variables to try and crunch and average something together. It was fun and refreshing to think about, but I'm not sure it really gives an accurate picture of a character encounter, in that sense.

MAYBE... maybe something a little more concrete like a short, "things your dude typically does on their average day"--average daily tasks and schedules? Though I could also foresee that getting lengthy and having too much thought be put into that, and also having a similair problem with a lot of different variables and circumstances. HMM. Food for thought for next time.

BUT YEAH I guess it is kind of hard to give an accurate depiction of what a brief hall encounter might be like since it really does depend on so much. It was neat to see what people did come up with anyway. I will try to alter that for next time somehow, to keep the feel of covering "this character has probably helped you with dropped books/yelled at you for rule breaking/taken your lunch money" if I possibly can... or drop it altogether. I have another three months to think about it anyway. Along with smooshing all those other things together.

Man, remember that time we did a daily schedule meme on tegaki, we should totally do something else like that. But I guess more text based because forget trying to draw in java applets, man.

Yeah some kind of 'it's okay to assume these sorts of things between my characters' is really great and helpful.

Seriously my tablet hates anything java these days. My old shitty tablet was totally fine then I got fancy and it can't handle it. WHAT CRAP.

Dude maybe we could make like... a template or something... one of those draw memes with lots of little boxes and stuff. Probably just something supplemental though to accommodate errbody.

...YES. THAT IS EXACTLY THE KIND OF SECTION I MEANT. I can even use that as a title for it... Or at least shorten it a bit when the time comes. It was so obvious.

HA HA I guess java is just too lame for these newfangled fancy tablets. I really like the idea of a template though omg. Let's. Have someone do it. A little two-box thing that can be copypasted as many times as someone needs? A single box? A whole page with every hour?
DUDE. It can be hourly comic day but for character lives instead!! We'll have to make a little form thing for the people who don't want to draw anything too. I like this plan though.
