I mentioned this before once on plurk, but it was late at night and I might as well put it here.
To summarize: who doesn't love the shit out of markets. There are so many markets in video games. What if there was a market log, either in the city or at the school?
If your character sews or crochets or knits, if they do crafty things, they can sell them here. If your character has levels in blacksmithing or leather making or trapping furs, they can peddle their wares. If your character cooks or bakes or makes their own jam, they can have a food stand. Perhaps even if they have an excess of old equipment or junk they don't need, they can clear up some space in their inventory and make some coin.
It'd be a way of drawing attention to your character's hobbies and have them make pretendy time money. Clubs could use the opportunity to hand out flyers. Or if your character doesn't have a booth, they can wander around lamenting how they only meant to pop in and take a look, but ended up spending all their money somehow.
I don't know if NPC vendor characters is possible but that might also be cute. I need this in my life.
