CHARACTER/GAME PERSONALS - FEBRUARY 2014

YOU KNOW HOW THIS WORKS. Want to make some CR or Plotting happen? Here's where you plan it out.
► HANDY CHARACTER PLOTTING FORM
► GOALS & DIRECTIONS: Hey, some of us have been here a really long time and might not know what direction to take our characters in anymore, or maybe you've been here only a few days and don't know where to start. There's no better time to start than now, so don't be afraid to express what things you'd like to do with your characters, regardless if it's something that might happen in the near future or a long ways away. Fall in love? Fall out of love? Graduate? Experience what it's like to be the opposite gender? An animal? In the body of someone else? Save the world? Try to destroy it? The more other players are aware of what you want to do, the better your chances are of making your wishes into reality!
► THIRD PARTY SUGGESTIONS: Suggest new CR or character ideas, even if it has nothing to do with your own characters. Just put a "THIRD PARTY SUGGESTION" in the title of your comment when you browse the Character Plotting threads, and who knows? Maybe you just suggested a great interaction or idea no one has ever thought of before. And don't forget to spread the love around with as many people as you can so everyone gets a suggestion or two!
► You know the usual rules: play nice, you don't have to say yes to every offer, be polite and all that jazz.
► Previous personals posts.
► The CALENDAR has been updated!
Let us know if you have any questions or concerns!
GAME PLOTTING
Or cute and fluffy, however you want to work it. That's right Cupid Bots are coming Friday the 14th, so make sure you hash out your shenanigans.
Even before that though, love is definitely in the air! Goombella and Knuckles are getting married on Saturday the 8th. The log is up already!
And as always, intermittent plots and events are more than welcome. Or hey, maybe hash some ideas out for the future months to come.
Previous game plotting.

To summarize: who doesn't love the shit out of markets. There are so many markets in video games. What if there was a market log, either in the city or at the school?
If your character sews or crochets or knits, if they do crafty things, they can sell them here. If your character has levels in blacksmithing or leather making or trapping furs, they can peddle their wares. If your character cooks or bakes or makes their own jam, they can have a food stand. Perhaps even if they have an excess of old equipment or junk they don't need, they can clear up some space in their inventory and make some coin.
It'd be a way of drawing attention to your character's hobbies and have them make pretendy time money. Clubs could use the opportunity to hand out flyers. Or if your character doesn't have a booth, they can wander around lamenting how they only meant to pop in and take a look, but ended up spending all their money somehow.
I don't know if NPC vendor characters is possible but that might also be cute. I need this in my life.

DORM EVENT REVIEW

A+ would dorm again.

Another thing I could do is change the time frame of dorm logs to encompass a month. That would leave plenty of room.

I saw a lot of people spending (probably) a long time writing out/feeling inspired to write out prompts for each of the events which I'm not sure if they'll burn out on trying to do that all the time for every one but THEN AGAIN no one is forcing them to do that either, so this is probably a moot observation.
I'll agree though that spacing them out a little more might be better suited to the current speed of the game.
But yes I really love them and would enjoy more.

It really is up to the person. At first I was worried that every post would just be an endless list of what's going on during each specific day or set of days, but it started to get less prevalent as more people sort of did their own thing. It was probably due to not really knowing how to take it at first. I think it worked out fairly well, and I got some good threads out of the prompts.

I think it is well suited in dorm logs and best executed there.
I THINK YOU SHOULD KEEP DOING IT I think it has been working out well people will definitely find their place with them in due time, sooner or later. Even if one person does their own thing that doesn't mean it's not something they can't otherwise reference--like elsewhere for a log hook, or have their character be aware of what's going on and not look out of sync with the rest of the game when replying to someone else's network post referencing it or something.
