► GOALS & DIRECTIONS: Hey, some of us have been here a really long time and might not know what direction to take our characters in anymore, or maybe you've been here only a few days and don't know where to start. There's no better time to start than now, so don't be afraid to express what things you'd like to do with your characters, regardless if it's something that might happen in the near future or a long ways away. Fall in love? Fall out of love? Graduate? Experience what it's like to be the opposite gender? An animal? In the body of someone else? Save the world? Try to destroy it? GAME PLOTTING

We've had a busy summer and summer vacation is over, but fret not for adventures at Smash are only just beginning!

ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED - ISLE OF ANCIENTS: Now a permanent fixture of Smash Academy, the floating island is always open for exploration if you need a change from some slice-of-life. There's monsters to fight, ruins to explore, and untamed wilderness to claim. Perhaps there might be some valuable treasure or items to discover and take home! Please refer to all the previous event write-ups for any details [01], [02], [03], [04].

CLASSES BEGIN SEPTEMBER 8TH: But if slice-of-life is your thing we got you covered too! School time means school uniforms, classes, homework, cafeteria shenanigans, after-class clubs, frats/sororities (seriously where is Smasha Delta Gamma...) proms, dances and dates, oh my! Make sure to check your class schedules if you're a student, and work on your class logs if you're a teacher. Or, you know, keep doing your thing if you're neither.

There's also a lot of birthdays this month! Just saying!

OPEN DRAW LOG?

Tossed the idea around on plurk between a few people earlier tonight, but I'll put it here too...

Basically, I've been itching to do a draw log lately and since I can't decide between several scenarios, it was suggested that there's a general catch-all one? Kind of like a dorm log, but with pictures? DOES THIS APPEAL TO ANYBODY HERE. And if so, how would you prefer it set up? I know having a million images can kind of bog down slower computers, so does it work better with image-free top-level comments, or keeping a limit on size for non-linked images, or...??

This would be incredibly experimental. I JUST WANNA DOODLE WITH YOU ALL.

- Gossip stones/rumors

- Frat house/frat parties, sororities, things like that. I want to see like, A CLUB or TEAM or just some better sense of camaraderie. Sports stuff. idk. It seems like a real great and easy way to foster strong CR. I wish I had a better character to help engage in this (maybe I will try to app one) but this is something I'd love to see.

- A... school nurse... and people getting hurt and going to see said nurse. I cleaned out the premise page the other day and we are missing a PC nurse booooo. NPC nurses for now. :(

- Glitches like game mechanics/features from canons being played up like exclaimation points above people's heads, or [item acquired fanfares], or poison mushrooms skittering in the hallways or whatever especially tying in to an event like this.

Character(s): KIYOTAKA, the loud and socially awkward ex-disciplinarian. HAYATO, the egotistical but goodhearted cheerleader/gym teacher.
Seeking: E V E R Y T H I N G. But new CR is always great.

Kiyotaka is kind of conflicted about the start of the new year, since he totally hates school now. He's really bitter and jaded about authority figures in general, so I would REALLY LOVE A MENTOR FIGURE to restore his faith just a little bit. He also has a Magikarp now, so that's a. Thing.
Would also really like to get him into belated SKY ISLAND INVESTIGATING since he is still very dubious about high schools full of dark mysteries.

Hayato is still new and is going to try to settle in good and proper now that all this subspace nonsense has died down a little. Gonna get a class log up for him sometime this month, but besides that, he should just meet people. Since Kiyotan should have a mentor figure, it would also be fun to play the other side of that and have Hayato be a mentor for some kid or another too. Who knows.

The only authority figure I have is Mario and uhh I don't know if that would be what you're looking for because all of his life lessons are for 12-year olds that watch his cartoons. Say no to drugs, eat your vegetables. practice stair safety.

Hayato would probably be a bad role model for Hilda so they should probably hang out more.

Seeking: Logs? New friends? Doing stuff? Hey you wanna do something with this guy, come tell me.
Goals & Directions: After the portal gets closed, Pulse is gonna want to check out every inch of that island, just so he'll know the territory like he already knows the school. But then, he'll also be going to class again once the new semester starts, so he'll be slightly more visible around the campus too. Aside from that I have nothing major planned for him right now, except for maybe strengthening a few relations with friends, especially since so many of his friends graduated/moved away/died and such. :P

Pulse and Lucca need to do stuff, either in cyberspace or in actual space. Lucca isn't without some prodigal knowledge of computers, since she was able to effectively use a database from the future, and of course she can scorch the hell out of whatever's on the island right along with him!

Seeking:

Lucca always need more CR! Friends, enemies, crushes, I want it all! I would like to put up an autoshop log sometime this month to show off her AWESOME FLYING TIME MACHINE, so that's something to look forward to.

Gordon will be continuing to investigate the mysteries behind the school, as well as teaching classes. Also he has a Rotom and has for a while, but he doesn't really know how to train it; someone help the poor guy out, before Gordon tries to leave the lab and it blows up something in protest.

Hilda and Lucca should be friends because Hilda thinks fire is cool and Lucca has FIRE MAGIC.

Or she could maybe give Gordon a crash course in Pokemon training. Drag him out into some tall grass, take his crowbar away and force him to use his Pokemon Partner to defend himself

Character(s): for_truth, the idiot baby Pokemon trainer and provolone_ranger, the guy from Mario.
Seeking: Yes. Give me all of it.
Goals & Directions: Hilda's kind of all over the place, but she's always super eager to make new friends and hang out with old ones. She's probably going to be in a few clubs and enrolled in a lot of classes so study buddies would be RADICAL. Maybe some Pokemon battles in the future?
I'd like for her to get her snoop on in the ruins, too, but because she's not exactly a genius she can definitely be support for brainiacs. Supposedly a big magical luck dragon chose her to be the hero of Truth (tm), so I think it'd be neat to do some stuff where she pursues TRUTH and JUSTICE and other anime garbage.

Mario is your history teacher, so I'm gonna get a log up sometime this month for that. Maybe an edu-tainment computer game will be the subject, like the Oregon Trail or something. here lies mayro, peperony and chease He needs to get around some more so I think he'll be exploring the island some. Maybe some sports logs in the future? who wants to play golf. how about tennis

Another thing I really want to do: MARIO PARTY. Or something like it. A group of people get together to explore some ruins on the island and find themselves on a giant game board where all the spaces are walled off with wizard magic until you roll dice and participate in stupid mini-games for chocolate coins. Maybe there's an implication that only the winner will get to survive or something to force everyone to take part, but at the end everything is hunky-dory and the only prize is something lame. I DUNNO, this is something I'd like to flesh out.

We talked about Hilda and my two nerds already, but let's talk about Mario. It's a damn shame that he and Gordon have only so far interacted in the testrun log. I want to do something about this.

Goals & Directions: CLASSES! He's going to be doing classes this year. I freakin' PROMISE you guys. Anyway, he's always available for one on one tutoring/training and I always enjoy new CR for him. He's also a veritable Pokémon encyclopedia by now, so, those of you with Pokémon who want the opinions of a guy born in 1940s England...?

Goals & Directions: He had lots of fun shooting things during this event and lighting stuff on fire. But now he can get back to trying to relearn how to be a normal human being all over again. If you'd like to help, he's available for that.

She and Mario aren't exactly good candidates for helping folks be normal though. BUT I think Joel and Hilda would be funny, as are he and Mario. I'm thinking maybe Hilda will take wood shop this semester.

Seeking: Most of the things. Logs and such. Any sort of art log that is MS Paint based and revolves around a series of absurd propositions and circumstances.

Goals & Directions:
MAX: Getting ready for the new school year. Dealing with the irreparable loss of his second set of gunz. Wanting to do physical things. Trying to fill the hole in his life from Vinnie not being his underling anymore.

BOWSER: MARIO. MARIO. MARIO. EVERYTHING IS FILLED WITH RAGE AND yet a feeling of inexpressible longing and completeness, all wrapped up into one. When I get off my lazy butt, he's getting a new human body because of reasons.

JOCK: Loves Blue and loves being an Arcanine again. He wants to be your friend. He wants to eat a lot of meat. He wants to take naps with you. He wants you to feel his muscles.

HAGAKURE: Needs to have a fortune-telling log up sometime. Needs some non-Dangan... friends? Needs to do something with Hajime. Needs to get on that chicken coop.

Seeking: Interactions with old people as well as new people to meet!

Goals & Directions:
Hajime is becoming more and more despondent about his efforts at the school. His time in Kalos gave him some much needed rest (and a Whismur, that's a thing now), but he isn't feeling like his cheering efforts are helping the school much. It's time for him to bite the bullet and learn to fight, at least in self defense. He'll need the help of someone who's ready to deal with a very squeamish pacifist. Also, Pokemon training.

Madotsuki hasn't done much but wander and occasionally cause chaos around the school, so that's always an option. However, she needs to shake it up, mostly in the form of her real body getting some interaction. People can catch her making a run for the bathroom, or the vending machine. That'll bring chaos of a different sort.

The way things are going Hilda would definitely argue that magical cheer bullshit is REALLY HELPFUL if he brought it up, you cheered until an eclipse went away turned the sun back on and this other guy danced so good that her Pokemon could headbutt a giant robot, how is that not helping the school

Madotsuki's food gets stuck in the vending machine so Mario ground pounds it to help her out. She pinches her cheek and she doesn't wake up, then she runs away.

Seeking: A way to ease myself back into the game? Exploring new CR, and I always love drawlogs.
Goals & Directions: I'm still going to be somewhat sparse on activity due to work. Realistically, I probably need to drop my older threads... I'm contemplating dropping a character to lighten the load as well - in hindsight, even in my excitement, apping two dudes at a time was really biting off more than I can chew. Most likely it's going to be Inigo because as much as I love his CR and his cast, I can't give him the attention he deserves. Otherwise, I'm more or less winging it for this month.

Character: Riwane the Charizard. Overly energetic, loving and excitable. Loves music, dancing and fighting. Easy to get a long with!

Seeking: Why is there never an all of the above option? But yes! Errything please! Logs, threads, new/old CR! Any themes!

Goals & Directions: Going to finish up High School for sure this year. Wants to continue training in hopes that she'll be able to get more teammates and they could finish taking on the different regions and become a well known team in those areas. Also making sure that those very important people in her life are well taken care of!


Character: Charlise the Drifblim. Foul mouthed emo ghost type. Loves girls. Trying to deal with the renewed feeling of abandonment. Has been more reclusive than usual. Loves to 'collect' everything, even if it's not hers. especially if it ain't hers.

Seeking: Logs/Threads, new cr and strengthening old cr any theme is applicable, she'll do just about anything.

Goals & Directions: I want to try and get her to enjoy life a bit more. That not everyone is out to give her a spark of happiness only to dump her on the curb like she feels almost everyone has done since she pretty much came to being. She'll still retain her personality, yeah, tsun at heart and all. But maybe, hopefully have a bitty, tiny, small, ray of hope.

I think Hilda and Charlise should go trick-or-treating. Charlise gets mad that some grandma gave them pennies and pulls out a carton of eggs, Hilda asks how she's going to cook them, Charlise slowly and sadly puts the carton away. She's gotta bump into Riwane during classes, too!!

Maybe Mario runs around the island using a fire flower on monsters and Riwane shows up for DOUBLE FIRE or something? I dunno if Mario's the best character for teenage girls.

I feel like I've been in a rut with Samus for the past, I dunno, two years maybe but haven't felt a burning inspiration to app a second character which is what I'm pretty sure I need at the moment. I might start to slowly let go of a few threads but I am open to whatever you wanna throw at me in the meantime.

Things Samus enjoys: drinking, shooting, sparring, her fancy motorbike and being unfortunately anti-social. I'm also always open to adventures, mysteries, antagonists, bodyswaps, one-sided crushes, etc etc. Strengthening old CR or making new CR let's do it.

Unfortunately she's unlikely to ask first to be friends, but she would not turn down polite conversation.

Maybe Mario shows up on the wacky subspace island one time while Ike is there and they both beat up a monster that drops a bunch of food, then there's this awkward moment where they both look at each other all "is he going to go for it, is that even safe" and then they chow down on floor food.

Eggman - I’m hoping to eventually give him the Death Egg back, or even the Death Egg Mk II. But that won’t be for a little while yet. But I’m open to anything with him.

Blaze - Blaze is in bad need of new CR. She needs to learn to relax too.

Daisy - Also in bad need of new CR.

Jolt - Things are quiet for Jolt right now, but I’d love to get him involved in more physical activity or even some lighthearted pranking. Also want to see him learn how to relax.

R.O.B. - More CR would be more than welcome.

Shantae - Needs some more CR.

Rock - He needs some new CR, and I want to get him involved in activities.
