I THINK what makes things like tegaki work so well is that the images are small and easy to load. Also if the log gets big eventually the threads will collapse and not all the images will load up-front anyway.

480x160 I think is what tegaki currently runs at, so maybe something like 500x200 for the comments, no bigger.
