MARCH FESTIVAL!
Welcome spring time, Smash Academy. No doubt you've noticed the weather getting warmer and warmer by now; the lake is completely thawed out (probably still too cold for a swim, though), not a flake of snow is to be found anywhere, flowers are in bloom and local cherry blossom trees are turning vibrant hues of pink. New life is all around, so why not celebrate it? We present to you this spring, a Persona inspired event:
MARCH FESTIVAL!
(Thank you Jess for helping us with this part!) Traditionally Culture Day is held on November 3 in Japan, BUT! School culture festivals are usually worked into the curriculum and they're sort of like an open house for parents/potential students, not to mention an opportunity for students and teachers to HAVE FUN. The general (and admittedly very anime) gist is that clubs put together different events and each class is put in charge of their own ~special event~, whether that be serving food or putting up a museum-like exhibit or carnival games.
Since classes in Smash are more free form, we will have 5 events determined by students in each class bracket. (Freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors and college students respectively.) Students may ask teachers or other faculty for their assistance, and similarly teachers and faculty are free to willingly assist whatever class bracket they choose. These class events will happen during the week of March 19th-23rd. (As a reminder, you can check out the calendar here.) You can do anything from Live Action Western Film Re-enaction Plays to Dance Competitions to Nancy Wrestling or Group Dating. The sky is the limit. The freshmen event will go on Monday, sophomore on Tuesday, ect.
But that's not all! Additionally, there will be two beauty pageants, along with a student/faculty auction, and a March 17th Beer festival so you kids can get your booze on this St. Patrick's Day. READ ON.

The "Miss" Pageant (March 16th)
Wherein the guys parade in their most beautiful female outfits for all of the world to see. A winner will be selected by IC popular vote, but to keep things fair, OOCly the winner will be chosen ala RNG. Said lucky winner will judge the female pageant contest and impose a rule on it, such as, "It must be done in a bikini" or "the girls have to wear wigs" etc. (Just try to keep it PG-13.)
Sign ups, as always, can be willing or not. If you have a character that wouldn't do it but you want to do so, you can blame it on one of our many fabulous and wonderful resident jerks and trolls. (Like Ganondorf. He's cool with that.) Regardless, if your name is on that sign up sheet participation is mandatory! You're gonna have to go dress shopping!
The MISS Pageant! (March 16th)
And now the girls step up and show what they can do for fabulous prizes and bragging rights! Unlike the guys, they have a more traditional beauty contest, with a short introduction, question and answer (hosted by the winner of the first part), and then the special request of the first pageant's winner (swimsuit, underwear, etc.). Again, the winner will be determined by a random roll.
The winners of both pageants shall be the Queen and...Queen of the day. They'll also be the first up in the bachelor auction next weekend, if they are participating.
BEER FEST 2012 (March 17th)
March 17th is the perfect day to get green and drunk, so Bob's organizing a little party over at the Cafe.
Yes it's time for beer and hovering sausages as far as the eye can see.
Moreover, anyone who is not dressed in green will find themselves with green hair that day. Got green hair already? Well now you have a tiny floral ecosystem in there, congratulations. Don't worry, everything will be normal the next day. Or if you got really unlucky (because you are a terrible mun), your character may end up all green too. Guess Bob might have been a wee bit drunk.
BACHELOR AUCTION (March 23rd)
What better way to end a week of expensive festivities than with a little fundraiser? You guys have wanted an auction since forever so now we're giving it to you.
Students, teachers and faculty alike are welcome to sign up out of the goodness of their hearts to raise money for the school (or because someone like Ganondorf signed them up) then walk up on stage and sell their soul to someone. You, yes you, could have your very own slave for an entire weekend. There are a couple of rules with this one, however!
- Be IC with your character's money amounts. They can certainly pool together resources with another person, go nerd-punching and collect lunch money all week, or even lie about their funds and subsequently be indebted to the school (and you probably don't want to be that desperate--if you thought Caim's punishment was bad...) but try to keep it realistic.
- And since we do have some ICly super rich bastards on campus, Falcon, each character will be limited to ONE PURCHASE. So make it count!
- If you are participating in the auction, this does not bar you from bidding on your fellow auction... ees. If you got money, you can get the honey.
- As an added option for those those especially unwilling types, they can come with Crazy Hand brand obedience collars™ to ensure you get what you pay for. They can cause whatever unpleasant motivator effect you want (shock, tickling, high-pitched sounds). It'll fall off come Monday morning, so get your jollies and misery and free homework in while you can.
- When it comes to slave-for-a-weekend stuff, you can get as crazy as you like, just remember OOC COMMUNICATION IS KEY! Please respect player wishes if something makes them uncomfortable and they don't want to do it.
- Have fun!
