Anyone here know how to play an ocarina?! (Moon plotting post)
Okay guys! In Gordon's announcement post yesterday, there were a lot of ideas that were discussed in order to stop the moon.
I'm going to post them here in sub-threads for OOC plotting and organization, and also to give everyone an opportunity to join in, take ideas and run with them. I don't want anyone to feel left out.
(Also, since I'm pretty much on the opposite side of the world and 6-8 hours ahead, I'd like some of these ideas to grow legs and walk on their own. That way, you guys don't have to wait.)
With the exception of Gordon's thread with Skull Kid, his discussions were pretty public, so I believe anyone could volunteer for anything.

EVACUATION AND SHELTER
In the thread, Joel agreed to organize the evacuation of students through portals to safety off-world. Harupia also pointed out that not everyone can leave, which means that they'd have to pool their resources to find someplace safe for them as well. But how do you find a safe place when the whole planet might be uninhabitable?
In a way this is all a moot point because no one is going to get very far at all. No one can leave the area through any means. However, they could still use help in finding that out.
Re: EVACUATION AND SHELTER
And that's the Distortion World. If everyone is OK with feeling like a god of the underworld is stirring their brains around in their heads due to the skewed perception and how the laws of physics are reduced to mere polite suggestions, then it's at least relatively safe.
But after his second attempt, when he acted directly on Arceus, Giratina kept him there for several months during which time his consciousness got so overloaded from the stimuli that he could barely function for a long time afterwards.
OPERATION "BLOW UP THE GODDAMN MOON"
People are divided about this. Cyrus believes this to be too dangerous, and Gordon is inclined to agree. They're too close to not be pummeled by the fragments, which would only be marginally better.
On the other hand, Knuckles just wants to punch it in half.
Re: OPERATION "BLOW UP THE GODDAMN MOON"
It's going to be amazeballs.
LAUNCHING IT BACK WHERE IT CAME FROM
Gordon and Wave postulated using the technology behind the Gravity Gun and powering it with something that has a high concentration of energy (Like, maybe, chaos emeralds) to slow the moon down or even push it back. Ronnae agrees this is feasable.
The scale that they're working with is absurdly large, and even if they did reverse the moon's course they'd risk launching the planet in the opposite direction and into the sun (DAMN YOU NEWTON!) but it just might work.
Also it'd be incredibly badass.

OTHER SOLUTIONS
Gordon mentioned the masks he'd been studying several times. He doesn't quite know how the monster masks fit in with everything, but he knows that they do, and that they belong as part of some sort of set. Whether they'll fix things or make them worse, is anyone's guess at this point.
He also knows about the mask that started all this in Termina, and thinks it may be out there somewhere with a new host. He'll put out an APB, as soon as he has confirmation of what it looks like.
Cyrus mentioned Regigigas, and launching it into space to try to fight against it. Gordon has no clue what he means. Maybe someone else out there does.
Also if all else fails and the moon is still on its way, Pyrrhon has said he'd try to keep it at bay for a while. It may buy some time, but it'd be at great cost to him.
