FOURTH WALL WEEKEND & NEW BLOOD

As our Fourth Wall Weekend comes to a close, we'd like to thank everyone for participating, regardless if you are in Smash or not. And if you just recently joined us, WELCOME! We've had a lot of lot of new blood come in these past few months, so everyone go ahead and make them feel at home. ♥ You may continue backdating 4th wall stuff as long as you desire, so long as it is contained in the appropriate tags. Could you give us input on what you thought of the future dating? Did it work for you? Was it confusing in anyway? Do you think a week was too long or not long enough? Would you like to see "big events" done like this in the future?

ICly, you can thank the little robot who could for saving the day: R.O.B. reversed the polarity of the portal, and all the "strange space people" went back to where they belong, (except for Caroline and possibly Cave, correct me if I'm wrong) Sunday night. Any carnage or damage caused by them will remain, such as the demolished buildings in FDC due to the Kraken. Don't worry, considering this is Final Destination City, things will get fixed up sooner or later...

ACTIVITY CHECK

Yes, it's about that time. Head on over to the ACTIVITY CHECK. page and sign in. Between Beauty Pageants and Auctions and Easter Bunnies and 4th Wall shenanigans, we figure there should be plenty of activity going on between all your dudes. But if you're having trouble making it, don't fret! You've got a week to get some activity in. Go do Personals and make it happen.

MAY EVENTS/PLOTTING

Looking to the month ahead, we the mods do not have "big events" planned, with the exception of Graduation, which will take place technically next month Friday, June 1st, which you can check out on the updated calendar. We should also note that No Pants Day is this Friday. This can be an optional one-day event; if you want to have your character strut around without pants of their own free will, by all means go ahead. If you don't want to participate, those pants can stay on. If you want to participate but don't think your character would be so bold and brazen, the strange nature of Smash Academy can certainly help you out by rendering any pants they do try to put on instantly destroyed. Have fun with that.

FRIENDLY REMINDERS

• Everyone did really well tagging things during the 4th wall event, but we can't stress how important it is to keep that up, event or not. Please remember to tag your entries, whether it's in smashacademy, smash_logs, smash_ooc or smash_random. Tags help us stay organized and especially help for things like Activity Check.

• Did you know we have a free-for-everyone-to-use NPC account? NO? Or you did and you just totally forgot? That's alright, so here's a reminder: subspaceemissary is free to use for any Smash Academy member for plot and shenanigans purposes. At the moment, this account contains Nancy Fuk, our cafeteria Ursaring with a laser eye, Resetti, our main truancy officer, Sandbag for any and all beat-em-ups, and more. Also, since Spring Break ended and classes started back up, mysterious stones have started appearing around the campus and FDC. How can you use these strange stones and our other Staff NPCS? Why don't you scroll down to the NPC RULES section of our rules and check out the details.

• app_this_plz is this weekend. What is ATP? It's an excellent way of trying to enable cast mates or whoever you want to see into games. We have a convenient ATP form for you to use if it helps; please customize and personalize it as needed so it kind of doesn't look like we're spamming everyone with the same cut-and-paste thing. If you'd like to see something in our game-advertisement, please don't be afraid to put in a request!

• And as a final reminder, and we really shouldn't be needing to remind you guys of this but please try to mind your manners. We don't expect everyone to get along or agree, and privately venting is certainly your own business, but we do ask for politeness and respect. Please be mindful that the things you say and do can easily reflect on Smash Academy as a whole, regardless if it's intended or not. It shouldn't matter is someone is or isn't in the game any longer, that person behind the computer screen is just as human as you and I.

4th wall was fun! A whole week in advance might have been a little long though. Maybe 3-5 days for the next big event?

• Yeah, a week in advance might've been a bit much... I agree with Shocky's suggestion.

• Also, I think I saw a modpost somewhere mentioning that you would be doing some experimenting with this event. Can I ask what that was or was I dreaming this whole thing??

• As always I demand Valves from the ATP. Especially TF2. Christ I must seem like a desperate dweeb.

Yeah I agree with Shocky and MEG that the event came really too early. I LOVED IT but a little less of an advanced beginning would be favorable imo.

Apart from that, keep up the lovely work, mods ♥

For some of the more busy folks like myself - the week was actually nicer. :'D but majority speaks that maybe cut it down a couple of days in the next event??
