DRUG PLOT ROUND-UP POST (THE SECOND)

BIG APOLOGIES FOR THE DELAY but here we go: a summary of what's happened so far and FUTURE PLANNING below...



• I'M NEW, WHAT'S GOING ON? / SUMMARIZE THIS SHIT UP FOR ME REAL QUICK LIKE PLEASE...?
GO READ THIS POST! Skimming over this post might also be a good idea. In short, since June 2012 or so, drugs disguised as innocuous lollipops have been distributed around campus, but are now most easily found in FDC. Many characters in the school have figured out by now that they're either drugs or ~bad news~, but some are still new to the scene/naive, or addicted, or simply don't care.

And yes, the pops are still around and you are more than welcome to use them as outlined in the first plotting post.

• I'M NOT NEW, WHAT'S GOING ON? / I LIKE DETAILS.
JUNE 2012, Seth Richardson--a fine upstanding asshole senior student who runs Host Club--secretly picked out/blackmailed a few naive, innocent looking ladies to do his dirty work and distribute expensive "herbal" lollipops. Them being: Mary, Nephenee, Riwane, Ai, and for a brief while, Naoto. These drugs caused all manners of Smash Academy style shenanigans, and ultimately resulted in wads of cash between them and Seth. Mostly Seth.

Most of the girls aren't in active service anymore/grew up, so Seth and Mary are your most likely sources to get pops on campus if you are interested. There are also completely benign, perfectly normal lollipops also being distributed around, making it difficult to tell them apart. Drugged pops will more often than not (like, 9/10 pops) will have a symbol stamped into them. It looks like a double "P" (not unlike "PP"). Older versions of drugged up pops might not have a symbol (so it's still entirely possible to take one mistakenly), but for the most, currently distributed drug pops should have this symbol.

While Seth and Mary still discreetly sell pops, at this point in time it would be far easier for interested parties to walk into any seedy section of Final Destination City and acquire drug pops that way through any number of seedy drug dealer NPC types. That said, that is of course taking a huge risk as these drugs have been a large cause of the civil unrest, rioting, and violence that has been increasing in recent months... and even the death of a former student. Smash Academy has mostly remained a sort of safe haven from this, but for how long...?

• SO WHAT'S HAPPENING NEXT?
Ideally, with all this tension and direness being built up, some kind of conflict or confrontation! Seth's dug his dirty little claws deep into the seedy underbelly of Final Destination City and has established a fierce grip over many of its citizens. Many are drugged up and under his control; a group of violent, drug-addicted individuals ready to do his bidding. He's rolling in cash and he's planning something really awful.

He has a base of operations hidden under a creepy "abandoned" church somewhere in FDC which should be looked into. If it gets shut down it'll put a dent in the drug production, maybe even enough to give many of the drugged up mooks and minions their lives back and lessen the chaos and discord in the city... or maybe it'll be the veritable spark to a powder keg just waiting to blow up.

If you're interested in having your character get involved with anything, by all means PLEASE DO. This has been on-going and slow-burning and you are never too late. The links I outlined above should be comprehensive enough, and if not I'll gladly answer any questions and throw some ideas out in the plotting threads.

Also if you have NO INTEREST in this plot, that is A-OKAY! I've done my best to construct it in a manner that provides a lot of hooks and motivations while keeping most of it contained off campus and all this is still easily avoidable and ignorable if it is not your shitck. So don't feel like you have to be involved or give it recognition. JUST KEEP DOIN' YOUR THING, MAN.

QUITE A BIT, I IMAGINE.

There was a sideplot involved with the Love Hotel, and I can elaborate some whispers of that that may have gotten out in connection with this--specially the space part of this, hopefully more end-game type secrets and mystery.

Immediately, curious bats and bat networks may notice that the other two churches are used as decoys or as a place to hold ~unscrupulous meetings~. These meetings have both human and non-human types alike attending. Most are drugged up. Errybody under these rooftops seems to get along like these drugs are a common bond they share. Put them back out on the streets and then they go right back to hating and wanting all those freaks and fleshbags dead. IT'S SO WEIRD.

Man, I'm sure there's plenty more I just can't think of it at the moment.

At this point I'm gonna assume it's not just druggies who are hating eachother. This kind of huge tension between sides is probably affecting anyone and everyone out in the city. Are there particularly important members of each side, holding rallies and spreading the word? Are there hippie protestors trying to remind people to love one another, man? What's Tabuu's stance on all this? Is there any tension focused on the school? With tax dollars going toward funding it after the Aparoid War and all, with the school not really taking any sides in it...

You know, all that kind of thing. I wanna know! This goes deeper than just drugs now!

I am thinking Edgeworth should be roped into being the faculty supervisor for the Debate Club, and because he doesn't know what fun is I think he might hold a debate or organize a mock trial based on THE DRUG PROBLEM. I've been checking out mock trial booklets on the internet and if they aren't Goldilocks vs. The Three Bears they're about HARD-HITTING TEEN ISSUES like hazing and tax evasion.

For a mock trial I was looking at maybe doing a theoretical murder case, but with actual dead bodies already in the making maybe that would be better saved for some other time. Maybe some kind of... robbery, vandalism, or assault case. Testimonies and evidence would be prepared ahead of time and then everyone has to argue until a verdict is reached?

I think that a straight-up debate might work better, though. "DRUGS ARE BAD" "NO, DRUGS ARE GREAT" "I'M SURROUNDED BY IDIOTS"

HI I HAVE AN IDEA

so post-church things and glados's discovery, shadow and/or knux will be making an official post, but at any rate, shadow will be very high on the investigation. he'd probs be a target as a result, especially given he'll be hardcore on glados's death site during and after her body's been extracted. we sure know he has issues maintaining his memory when harmed, so HAVE THIS IDEA.

to put it up as an offering and a sacrifice to ye drug gods, they are more than free to attack shadow at the same site and leave him in a horribly bad state, at least enough to render him hospitalized. what's the catch here? why, he's alive, but he can't remember who the attacker was and most, if not all, of what happened! probably from a particularly bad head wound/concussion. there'll be a sure struggle, given he's a powerful guy with chaos powers, but he'll ultimately fall.

also, he has a chaos emerald in his spines. you're free to take that if it'd make for anything else interesting. o:

I THINK that could be like... if we used Skull Kid going crazy on drugs, he could be the perfect catalyst for a body horror/whacky transformation styled event.

· DEAD ANDROIDS

IT HAPPENED AGAIN. Somehow some little bastard has figured out how to murder the impossible. A familiar looking android body (did_well_enough) can be found again, lifeless by a dumpster in the exact same park Kitty was murdered at, in the exact same position. You'd think an AI like that could just be rebooted or would have had a backup copy or something, right? Wrong. Examination of the body will prove whoever did this was extremely thorough at destroying any components that would have made her Her. Animal-like slashes, gouges, and burns akin to being struck with a bolt of lighting are all evident factors to her demise. There is also signs of a struggle--she definitely put up a fight before going down, but it's obvious this AI isn't coming back to life anytime soon.

Unlike flesh and blood, android bodies don't decompose so it's impossible to tell how from her long she's been here. Weeds resilient to the cold weather, however, have grown lush and thick, then browned with decay around her body--implying she's gone unnoticed for several weeks.

Who might happen to stumble upon her, and notice two white sticks on the ground by her body?

· GENERATOR SABOTAGE

You guys remember how the school was plunged into darkness for a weekend when the generators failed, right? What if I told you that 1) yes this was definitely an act of intentional sabotage and 2) the perpetrator was so good at its job it left nary more a single clue behind? Yes, perhaps you'd forgotten about it and had a sudden epiphany, or it took this much trial and error to get that beaker to light up against this or that solution but if you've been paitent... here is your clue:

Slime. Magenta slime, to be precise. Not just any slime, slime with shifting DNA. The properties of this slime are otherwise extremely difficult to identify and for that exact reason, but someone might be able to determine that a creature made of slime cut the wires and left microscopic evidence of itself on the cut wires. Other than that, it slimed in and out without any other trace. Maybe it was the work of Smash's rival school, Capcom high? Maybe it might interest someone thirsting for payback to look up Capcom High's records and see if anyone... er, anyslime like that is enrolled there.

What it could be?

· CREEPY CHURCH HEADQUARTERS

You may recall a mysterious ninja boy on the network asking about a "PP" symbol--commonly seen branded onto the pops being distributed around. Further investigations were planned BUT halted by bad weather. Now, weather is good. Now, go forth and investigate, interested parties. It might take time (or it might have been taking time if you feel like handwaving and saying you've had your character looking around) but eventually you might come across on the outskirts and seedier sections of FDC: three (3) abandoned looking churches with the "PP" symbol spray painted black on the front doors.

The first two churches are decoys--looking like they maybe held some meetings, shuffles of dozens and dozens of human and inhuman footprints recently left behind in no real order. That's it. Church #3 however, has something a little more hidden inside. The building itself is huge which means there is a lot of ground to cover--wouldn't that go faster (and safer) in a small group?

I'm working towards Cyrus leading some sort of mass action against the violence in FDC. And let's face it, it's probably going to involve going in there to beat down anyone who's even suspected of being involved in anything of the sort.
