First and foremost apologies for the delay, we figured it would be more courteous to wait until the DW downtime was over and everyone was awake again before posting mod announcements.

And a HAPPY NEW YEARS to all you wonderful Smashies. Can you believe it's been just about a year since we moved over to Dreamwidth? We've been very pleased with the move, and we hope you have been too. Here's to the start of another great year.

EVENT INFORMATION

This was suggested a while ago but we felt it was in poor timing. NOW, THE TIMING IS GOOD.

TIME FOR A BLACKOUT. It'll be just a little mini-event but starting this Friday, January 18th, there will be a series of unfortunate and extenuating circumstances that will bring the downfall of technology to Smash Academy, and everyone will be snowed in for the weekend, as seen on the updated calendar. More details will be given once the actual log goes up but for now here's the skinny:

• January 18th-20th the school will be WITHOUT POWER. That means no electricity, no heaters, no hot water, no TV, no gadgets, no gizmos, no network. The school's backup generators will work for only about an hour before mysteriously failing. The power will eventually be restored (and generators fixed) through FDC Power & Light.

• That won't happen until Monday morning however, as Mother Nature aka a wild and disgruntled Castform andor Articuno has decided it hasn't snowed nearly enough this season. Throughout the week the weather will be white and blustery until there's a full-fledged blizzard bearing down on the Academy by the weekend. Nobody in their right mind will be out and about in that weather until it passes.

You'll be snowed in and without power for a few days, Smash Academy. Better keep warm.

Tails will likely either be in the hangar or just getting out of class and stuck in one of the class buildings (is there more than one? I need to check the map...) Of course, if he IS in the hangar when things start getting blackout-ish, he'll make a mad dash for the school anyway. I'm not sure what he'll be doing for this but I'M OPEN TO SUGGESTIONS XD this is a good time for more CR shenanigans

Marisa will be mysteriously missing, by which I mean she'll be snooping around and trying to pilfer things, and unless she's needed by someone for anything, I'm gonna keep her low profile. If anyone wants something pilfered from them lemme know and I'll keep a list. Otherwise she's just going to get random shit nobody cares about because she's bored.

Kaz will be, by default, either:

. Hanging out with Banjo and Chili in their dorm waiting for the pizza they ordered right before this all happened :(:(:(
. Making trips to her own/Aquenda's dorm
. Exploring about the dorm hall.

If anyone wants to do things with her or want her involved in anything, I am so open for more CR.

Also, She carries fire eggs. but they kind of have to be shot out of her mouth (or otherwise) to activate, otherwise they are just shiny red useless eggs. I haven't decided how much of a supply she'll have, but if you find her human that means she's pretty fucking tired of shooting eggs now so fuck this shit.

green will be tumbling around with his team no doubt, but i see some good confrontations/encounters involving blue and red + their respective teams happening as well. he's also an ra, so if you wanna bother him for any particular reason, let me know.

kyogre you will find him outside, scaring the shit out of people because he loves the snow and confusion and emerging from darkened alleys. he can see really well in the dark but he's going to dumb it down so he can cling to his dark type ta. he will be making snow angels.

cammy is available to help wherever anyone needs it! she will be easy to find hovering near the library, shoving layers upon layers of sweaters on wheatley's shivering human body. let me know if you want her.

dachora has no good connections to losses of power, and has never seen snow. she will be a little ball of freak out.

jin loves the snow even more than kyogre. all his windows will be open. considering he doesn't really get chilled, he would be a perfect candidate to help out during the harsh weather with anything you might need him for. you just have to convince him to do so.
